Quizalofop Ethyl 10% EC — a selective, systemic post‑emergent herbicide targeting annual and perennial grassy weeds in broadleaf crops (notably soybean)

Description

• Formulation: 10% emulsion concentrate (EC)

• Mode of Action: Inhibits the ACCase enzyme (essential for fatty acid synthesis), disrupting cell division in grasses .

• Selectivity: Kills grassy weeds without harming broad-leaved crops due to targeted absorption and translocation through foliage 

• Time to Effect: Visible weed kill within 10–15 days of application 

• Dry-weather Tolerance: Good rainfastness — maintains efficacy even if rain occurs after spraying

Usage Guidelines:

Crops & Target Weeds (mainly soybean):

• Effective against species such as Eragrostis pilosa, Digitaria, Echinochloa, Brachiaria, Dactyloctenium etc. 

Recommended Dose (per acre):

• 200 g (approx. 0.5–1 L/ha) — used as 200 mL diluted in spray water per acre; alternate metrics: 2 mL/L water, or 30 mL in a 15 L pump spray.

Timing & Method:

• Apply post-emergence, when weeds are young, actively growing. Early application maximizes control.

• Common method: Foliar spray until weed leaves are thoroughly wet.

• Alternative methods: basal spray or cut-stump treatment for perennial grasses.

• High selectivity ensures crop safety while effectively targeting grassy weeds.

• Systemic action ensures complete kill—no burning or regrowth.

• Good rainfastness and foliar uptake mean reliable field performance.
