Amicus Herbicide
Amicus Herbicide is a selective pre-emergent herbicide developed by UPL Limited, formulated with Metolachlor 50% EC. It is designed to control a broad spectrum of grasses and some broadleaf weeds in various crops, including maize, soybean, groundnut, cotton, and potatoes.
Key Features:
Pre-emergent Action: Controls weeds before they emerge, reducing competition for nutrients and water.
Long-Lasting Residual Control: Provides extended weed suppression, minimizing the need for multiple applications.
Excellent Crop Safety: Safe for use on a variety of crops when applied correctly.
Low Volatility: Minimizes the risk of drift to non-target areas.
Photostable: Remains effective even under sunlight exposure.
Xylem Systemic: Absorbed by roots and shoots, providing thorough weed control.
Mode of Action:
Amicus works by inhibiting the synthesis of long-chain fatty acids in germinating weed seeds. This disruption affects cell membrane formation and seedling shoot growth, leading to the death of the weeds before they emerge.
Application Guidelines
Crops: Maize, soybean, groundnut, cotton, potatoes, and more.
Dosage: 800 ml per acre.
Application Timing: 0–3 days after sowing (pre-emergence of weeds).
Method of Application: Foliar spray.
Incorporation: Can be incorporated into the soil through light irrigation or rainfall.
